Case Study
A Victorian Government department engaged MindTribes to design and deliver a tailored training for all ~4,000 employees with the aim to uplifting the cultural competency of all their staff and creating a sustained impact in the workplace culture.
We undertook a review of their existing training and consulted selected HR leaders, managers and staff members to understand the current culture of the workplace. From there, we identified their key “pain points” and enablers to cultural competency in the department’s context.
Our lead experienced learning designer then developed a tailored training course for Executive leaders, people managers, and all staff members respectively. The training content was iteratively designed with the input of our client stakeholders, ensuring that the training is fit-for-purpose. The training was delivered over six months in two 1-hour sessions for each participant by MindTribes’ trained diverse facilitators.
The training course was supplemented with purpose-designed pre- and post-session communications, as well as takeaway resources, ensuring the learning is continuous and applicable in the department’s workplace.
This project has led to tangible outputs in terms of personal actions taken by leaders and staff members alike to improve the cultural diversity and inclusion at work. It has uplifted the department’s culture and resulted in the intended outcomes of improved cross-cultural communications and respect.
