Embed diversity and inclusion, improve psychological safety and address inequity in your workplace

MINDTRIBES works to improve psychological safety, address inequity and embed inclusion. We do this by partnering with clients, institutions, policy makers, state and federal governments, and research bodies to make a positive change to structures and systems that exclude and harm people at work.

We are experts on intersectionality and are specialists in race, ethnicity, gender and life stages. Our work is backed by organisation and clinical psychology, business evaluation, strategy and change management experience.

Selected Clients

We have worked with Boards, Executive Leaders, Managers, D&I Councils, Employee Resource Groups, Partners & Suppliers to create inclusion that realises business results.

Our KEY PILLARS

We work in key pillars: Audit & Advisory, Capability Builds, Change Management & Governance with all stakeholders at all levels from ERG or Staff Led Networks to People & Cultural Executives to leaders, managers and the Board.

Audit & Advisory

We apply a data driven approach [both qualitative and quantitative] to addressing equity, inclusion and diversity representation. We are trusted by our clients to audit and assess, in order to understand the truth, so we can co-design a human centric approach to changing the status quo. We are led by people’s voices, always.  Learn more about our five key audit services.

Capability Build

Our experience with clients over the last 10 years has shown us that learning and capability programs to staff and leaders are often a sunk cost. We know that unconscious bias training globally costs $US1.8 billion dollars annually, yet we see little to no reduction in bias to justify this spend. We approach capability very differently and we measure the impact and outcomes in people’s lived experience of inclusion. Learn more about our 5 key capability services.

Change Management & Governance

We are often asked by clients to refresh a D&I Strategy, or clients share past programs of work that has had little effect. Our response is that any D&I strategy needs to be tied to the business strategy so that it is embedded in the way people work. We know also that most past programs fail because of poor change management and governance. We work tactically and strategically to find the synergies, so it is easy and natural for people, especially leaders to act inclusively. Learn More.

FAQ’s

What is a DEI consultant?

DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) consultants provide guidance, expertise, and support to businesses and organisations seeking to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within their workplace.  MindTribes helps our clients develop strategies, policies, and initiatives to create a more inclusive and diverse work environment.

Why is diversity, equity and inclusion important for businesses?

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion can enhance business performance by cultivating an inclusive culture, amplifying employee engagement, and fostering innovation. Diverse teams bring a range of perspectives, leading to more creative and innovative solutions. Inclusive environments enable all employees to feel valued and respected. Equity ensures that all employees have access to the same opportunities and resources, and everyone can maximise their skills to succeed. DEI supports employee morale and job satisfaction, contributes to a healthier, more productive workplace culture, leading to high retention rates and better individual job performance, thereby improving an organisation’s financial results.

What is intersectionality?

Intersectionality is a framework acknowledging how different aspects of a person’s social and political identities (such as race, gender, class, sexuality, ability, and ethnicity), do not exist separately from each other but are interconnected. This concept emphasises the need to understand how overlapping identities face compounding experiences of discrimination and biases. Intersectionality ensures that policies and initiatives for DEI effectively address the diverse experiences of individuals.

MindTribes are experts in managing the intersectional experiences of employees, to provide comprehensive understanding and support in the workplace. MindTribes has a particular focus on the intersection of gender and race.

We provide guidance on promoting job opportunities to diverse talent pools, ensuring a more inclusive candidate experience and contributing to a workforce that reflects a broader range of perspectives and backgrounds.

How can diversity consultants help address discrimination and bias in the workplace?

Diversity consultants offer strategies and interventions to promote unbiased decision-making and pro-active inclusive practice. These can include, improved processes and practices, more equitable policies, job-relevant workshops and case-studies, data analysis, formalised strategies and project plans.

What is the role of diversity consultants in leadership development?

Diversity consultants offer tailored programs that focus on inclusive leadership skills. We provide training to help leaders, understand diverse perspectives, address biases, and create inclusive environments within organisations. We guide leaders in demonstrating commitment from the top, embracing diversity and fostering equitable practices.

How can organisations measure the success of diversity initiatives?

Organisations can gauge their success through key performance indicators (KPIs), by tracking demographic shifts, employee satisfaction, and career progression rates. Acknowledgement to Country

At MindTribes, we pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Australia. Representing the oldest living culture in the world, First Nations people have been the traditional custodians of this land for more than 65000 years. Australia, is the only commonwealth country that does not have a signed treaty (a formal agreement with the government and Indigenous people). We at MindTribes are committed to ensuring that every client we partner with has a meaningful and action-based Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)– whilst we don’t design or deliver a RAP, one of our first principles is not doing business with a client who does not have a RAP or an intention to execute a RAP in the time we are with them.
